Commercial Insurance Sales Agent - P&C
Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000 (DOE)
Reports To: Director of Operations
Location: Mankato, MN

Primary Objectives of the Position:
- Serve as a front-line sales agent for property and casualty insurance, with primary emphasis on commercial lines coverage.
- Partner with AgQuest and Cooperative members to implement effective in-house communication and networking strategies to promote our products and services.
- Develop a strong understanding of our insurance carriers' coverages, products, and competitive advantages to confidently position AgQuest/MN River Insurance over the competition.
- Continuously seek and engage in industry training to stay ahead of market trends, policy updates, and product innovations.
- Proactively create and capitalize on new growth opportunities through self-marketing and a robust referral network.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Prospecting & Sales
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, develop leads, and schedule appointments.
- Conduct client interviews to assess risk management needs and propose customized insurance solutions.
- Educate clients and prospects on policy features, tailoring recommendations to fit their unique needs.
- Actively engage with clients daily to secure new sales and maintain high customer retention rates.
- Travel to client locations or community events as needed to support business growth.
2) Retention & Customer Service
- Meet with clients annually for comprehensive policy reviews, addressing changes in coverage needs and risk management strategies.
- Handle policy renewals, changes, and claims efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and company teams to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
3) Marketing & Relationship Building
- Collaborate with AgQuest internal teams and cooperative retailers to identify opportunities for sales and relationship growth.
- Foster connections through extended community involvement, including participation in professional organizations and educational events.
- Leverage existing client relationships to develop referral sources for new business opportunities.
4) Communication & Documentation
- Accurately document all client interactions in the Agency Management System, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with internal service teams and retailer members to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
5) Education & Professional Development
- Maintain active Property & Casualty licensing, meeting all continuing education (CE) requirements.
- Pursue advanced certifications (e.g., AFIS, CIC) to expand industry knowledge and expertise.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field preferred; minimum 3-5 years of insurance experience preferred.
- Valid MN Property & Casualty Insurance license (or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment).
- Advanced knowledge of insurance products, rating, and underwriting procedures.

- Strong analytical skills to assess client needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for building trust and educating clients.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and confident in handling rejections during prospecting efforts.
- Well-organized, with an ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Strong customer service skills to foster long-term client relationships.
- Competent in using digital tools and software for documentation and communication.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a climate-controlled office environment with extended periods of sitting.
- Vision and hearing must meet job requirements to perform duties effectively.
- Occasional travel required for client meetings and community events.
Credit Analyst
Salary Range: $60,000–$90,000 (DOE)
Reports To: Director of Credit
Location: Morgan, MN
AgQuest Financial Services, Inc. is a growing agricultural financial services company serving farm supply retailers nationwide. We partner with retailers to provide integrated financing and insurance solutions for agricultural customers.
We are seeking a Credit Analyst to analyze and underwrite agricultural loan applications, reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and production history while ensuring compliance with loan policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial and production data for agricultural loan requests
- Prepare credit presentations using the 5 C’s of Credit
- Ensure compliance with credit policies
- Support loan processing and documentation
- Maintain accurate records in internal systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of credit underwriting experience
- Knowledge of agricultural finance and production
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial software
- Valid driver’s license
