AgQuest Attends Seventh District OFI Conference

Representing AgQuest at the Seventh District OFI (Other Financial Institutions) fall conference in Greensburg, Indiana, Jo Ann Gumto, Ryan Beyer, and Naomi Stewart joined colleagues from approximately seven other OFIs. The event, hosted by Agri-Business Finance and its parent company, KOVA Fertilizer, provided an excellent platform for industry collaboration, insights, and the advancement of financial services in agribusiness.

About the Seventh District OFI Conference

The two-day conference featured regional crop and economic updates from attendees, along with a presentation on the chemical and fertilizer markets. There was also a drone crop application demonstration, a presentation on the benefits of no-till and strip-till farming, and an attorney who discussed trusts and bankruptcy law. Participants received insight from AgriBank regarding global markets and the outlook for the farm economy as well.

The conference concluded with the organization’s business meeting. Naomi Stewart was re-elected as the Seventh District Secretary/Treasurer, while Ryan Beyer was elected as a new associate board member. Both will play important roles in supporting the organization’s mission.

Tour of Hulsbosch Dairy Farm

A highlight of the conference was a group tour of the Hulsbosch Dairy Farm located just outside Greensburg, Indiana. Hulsbosch Dairy Farm LLC is a family-owned operation with over 8,000 dairy cows, founded by the Hulsbosch family after they immigrated from Belgium in pursuit of the American Dream. They have become leaders in agriculture, showcasing innovative practices in dairy farming, animal husbandry, and sustainable management.

Central to their success is a commitment to individual cow care, including biannual hoof trimming and routine tasks that enhance cow comfort and health. With skilled associates dedicated to every aspect of animal care, Hulsbosch Dairy ensures each cow has a healthy environment, reducing the need for major medical interventions.
