Apple Pie
¾ cup sugar
¼ cup flour
3/4 -1 tsp cinnamon
Dash of salt
6 cups pealed and pared apples (about 6-8 medium)
2 Tbsp butter
Mix dry ingredients together in small bowl, slice apples into large bowl and mix sugar/cinnamon over apples. Put into pie shell, dot with the butter, add second crust, pinch with fork after sealing the edges (sprinkle sugar & cinnamon over top crust). Bake at 350 degrees 50-60 minutes.
Crust for 2 crust pie
2 cups flour
½ tsp salt
1/3 cup lard and 1/3 cup Crisco = 2/3 c Crisco total if using alternatively
2 tsp white vinegar
4 Tablespoon water
Cut shortening into flour and salt mixture until crumbly and size of peas. Combine water and vinegar, sprinkle over flour mixture 1 tablespoon at a time until all flour is moistened and dough leaves sides of the bowl – Makes 2 pie shells or 1-2 crust pie.
